There are RF devices that can produce a high output with very low power, say a car battery as a power supply. In turn the thermal output justifies the need for high energy demands to run the RF. Its potential makes it worth the effort.
TechGnosis is a term I coined in 1990, initially as an update of the concept of "Hipgnosis" which friends in London used in the early 60's as the name of their graphics team. Around 1994 "TechGnosis", by Erik Davis, appeared, which uses the term in the same sense I intended. Check out his website
